I am fond of south Indian  food, the quality of south  Indian food is...... it is less oily and  great in taste . I always  wanted to learn south Indian  recipes. Luckily I got a friend  Nadiya Najimudeen who is  from kerala .She is a beautiful human being and cooks delicious south Indian dishes.
She is a proud mother of three little daughters Nidha, Nihana and Nuha  and gets  occupied with them all the time. But when I requested her to cook something delicious for my esteemed readers. She squeezed  time  from her busy schedule and cooked Yummy south Indian dessert kinnathappam  for us.

Time - 45 minutes .

Here are the ingredients.


  • Basmati White Rice-  1 cup  ( water soaked for 4-5 hours )
  • Sugar - 6 tea spoon cup
  • Coconut milk - 1 cup (Grind   raw coconut pieces with some water in the mixer grinder and  squeeze  milk  with the  help of  sieve.  )  
  •  Egg -1
  •  Salt-  pinch
  •  Dry chopped fruits to garnish -


How to cook :
Finely Grind  water soaked basmati rice in the mixer grinder with coconut milk .
Boil 3-4 cup of water in a thick bottom utensil . Add sugar, salt ,Egg  with  the rice mixture  and  mix it well .Take a deep plate and  spread some oil on  it . Pour out liquid on the plate and  keep it gently on the boiling water .Cover it with a lid, and cook it on the low flame for few minutes till it is done .   
(If  your knife or fork  comes out clean when you insert it in the mixture  it means it is  well cooked , other wise you have to wait  for more minutes to cook it well . It should not come out  sticky.)

When It is well cooked , take the plate out of hot water and  let  it cool. Garnish it with  your favourite dry fruits. Cut it into pieces and enjoy it .
