Mango Shake

I am feeling hungry and thirsty, just craving  to  have  some healthy refreshment. What else can be better than mango shake. One glass of mango  shake is enough to satisfy my appetite.
Let me check if there is  chilled milk   and  mangoes are there  in the fridge ,oh yes.... its there in the fridge  so... what are we waiting for ... lets make mango shake   :)

 People - 2
 Time - 5-10 minutes.

 Ingredients - 



  • Ripe Mango  pieces- 1 cup
  • Chilled  Milk - 1 glass
  • Sugar - 4-6  tea spoon
  • Ice cubes-10
  • Chopped dry fruits -as per your choice
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)-1table spoon
Method -
 milk, mango, dry fruits, Put  chopped ripe  mangoes, sugar, chilled milk , ice cubes  in the mixer grinder and grind it well  for 1-2 minutes. open the jar , adjust  sugar  and thickness of the mango shake.  Pour out in the Glasses, garnish it with our favourite chopped dry fruits. 
It you want  to make your  Mango  shake tastier, just add one table spoon of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy it chilled.

Keep the chopped mangoes in the freezer for some time. Take the yogurt in a smoothie maker. Add frozen mango pieces and mil. Blend till smooth. Add sugar and blend again. i have made this mango milkshake using cashew milk. you can use other nut based milk also like almond milk. if you want then you can use regular milk too.

We  have orchard of mango  at our  native Place  Saithal which is a small town 35 k.m away from Bareilly. I consider my self  lucky  that our  forefather left this  beautiful gift  of orchard for us. Every summer we enjoy  variety of mangoes.  
There is a variety of mango  in our orchard  is called  katha -Aam. These  juicy, digestive mangoes  are  small and  round in size  and has  kattha- meetha(sweet n sour)  taste. People love to enjoy it after meals. My  Mom  Invented  a  unique  recipe with  Ripe sweet and sour  mangoes , and  had given  it a name Tapke.  This  Mango dish is specially for you from my mother's kitchen.

When the Murcury is hitting high in the month  of May ,what else can be better then  Desi Aam Panna  which can be best remedy for Heat  stroke and avoid Dehydration.
Some people like sweet and sour taste. some other people like only sour taste.... as.... I am one of them.  I make Aam Panna in totally desi style. Here  is the   recipe  of  Aam panna .

Cooked raw mango sauce

Within few days  raw mangoes are going to disappear from the market and I do not want you to miss this opportunity to cook this chutney   as  you can  preserve and enjoy  it whole year.
Today  I cooked  huge  quantity  of  Kacche Aam ki Pakki Chutney  ...which   i will enjoy  till the next season of summer.

aam ka achaar/ pickles

 Aam ka achaar/ Mango pickle
Summer comes with a smell of  tangy Mango.There are varieties of pickles  which can be added in our meal to boosts taste. This mango pickle was my mother's  favourite  ,which she used to prepare with  immature mangoes in  the month of April .Usually it takes  a week to settle the pickle but we impatient kids started eating this pickle just after 3-4 days. Just  try it....  for once, after that, you are going to prepare   this pickle season after season .

     kacche, chele aam/ raw mango
  • Raw immature green mango-1/2 k.g
  • Salt-1tea spoon (or as per your taste)
  • Red chili powder-1 tea spoon
  • Turmeric powder 2-tea spoon
  • Nigella sativa seeds (Kalounji)-1/2 tea spoon . 


Method-

 Mixture of spices  for mango  pickles
After washing   mangoes peel off their skin (no water should remain left).Cut them into small pieces.

 Aam ka achhar /mango pickle
Now mix turmeric powder, salt, kalaunji, red chili powder  with three table spoon mustard oil. Add pieces of mango in this paste. Mix it well as all  pieces of mango should be covered with this  paste. Put it in the glass jar and leave  pickle jar under the sunshine for a  week.Enjoy it with any meal specially with Daal-Chawal.
